DELTON, Mich. — Delton man missing since Sunday was found dead Thursday, according to the Michigan State Police (MSP) Fifth District.

The body of Michael Hodge, 76, who was reported missing from A Moment in Time Homecare company, was found during an “extensive” K-9 search, police said.

“The MSP wishes to extend its deepest condolences to the family, friends and all those who knew him,” the agency wrote. in a post on. “We also want to express our sincere gratitude to the hundreds of volunteers, partners and other law enforcement from here and abroad who helped search for Mr. Hodge over the past several days.”

Home care business owner Amy Planck said Hodge was known to wander off but would always come back. When he didn’t return from his walk on Sunday, his family became concerned.

Before MSP found Hodge on Thursday, a team of community members formed a search team to search for him Tuesday and Wednesday.

His family had also hired Search and Rescue, a company based in southern Michigan, to help with the search.
