NBA admits big missed call among Bulls-Knicks

The Chicago Bulls picked up a solid win over the New York Knicks on Wednesday night. Blowing out its 22-point lead, Chicago nearly allowed New York to complete the comeback, but held on for a 124-123 victory at Madison Square Garden.

Because this game was played, the NBA issued a Last two minutes report which details a big miss in the last minute of the match. According to the NBA, Knicks center Karl-Anthony Towns should have been warned for a personal foul against Zach LaVine with one minute remaining.

“Towns (NYK) advances laterally into the path of LaVine (CHI) on his drive,” the NBA wrote, stating it was an incorrect non-call.

That missed call came with the score tied 119-119 and Chicago in bonuses.

LaVine ended up turning the ball over and New York scored at the other end on a jump shot by Jalen Brunson. That put the Knicks up 121-119 with 38 seconds left, when LaVine should have gotten to the free throw line before New York regained possession.

Fortunately for the Bulls, this did not change the outcome of the match, as they were able to hold on and secure the victory. LaVine finished with 31 points in the win to help the Bulls survive Towns’ 46-point performance.

The Bulls are now 5-7 on the season, while New York is 5-6.
