Puppies rescued after firefighters found them in box under burning car

LOS ANGELESEight adorable puppies could soon be available for adoption after firefighters rescued them from a box located under a car that had caught fire.

Firefighters found the puppies after being called to a car fire in the Palmdale area last week. The puppies were in a box under the car. After extinguishing the fire, firefighters took the dogs back to the fire station, cleaned them and then took them to the Los Angeles County Animal Shelter in Palmdale.

When the shelter asked for help, the Best Friends Animal Society of West Los Angeles jumped out to get the puppies. All eight dogs – six boys and two girls – are currently in foster homes and receiving the care they need before they are ready for adoption.

According to their best friends, puppies are susceptible to getting sick at shelters, meaning they are at higher risk of being killed.

Best Friends said the puppies will be available for adoption when they are old enough, which will be around early December.
