BEULAVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — A man was arrested after officers with the Beulaville Police Department responded to a suspicious vehicle parked in the parking lot of Grace Covenant Church on November 7, 2024.

Officers checked the vehicle and found it occupied by Darion Smith of Buelaville. During the investigation, a search was conducted and officers located approximately 128 grams of marijuana, a 9mm handgun, a digital scale, packaging materials and drug paraphernalia.

Smith was charged with:

• Possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a Schedule VI controlled substance

• Manufacture of a Schedule VI controlled substance

• Offense of possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance

• Maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance

• Possession of marijuana paraphernalia

• Carry a concealed weapon

Smith was jailed on $5,000 secured bond.
