South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem said she immediately accepted President-elect Donald Trump’s nomination to serve as secretary of the Department of Homeland Security in his next administration. Not only did she quickly agree, but Noem says she researched and asked for this role specifically.

A project in preparation for several years finally saw the light of day in Sioux Falls with the promise of creating some 600 jobs. The 142-acre site will soon be home to a 700,000-square-foot food production facility responsible for making egg rolls and steamed dumplings.

As the holiday season approaches, the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society and Best Care Pet Hospital will host a special microchip clinic on Thursday. The Sioux Falls Area Humane Society is partnering with Best Care Pet Hospital to microchip 50 pets for free, just before the holidays.
