Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have reportedly killed a drummer identified as HC Ikhamateh Akhumhele in Osholo community, Edo State.

DAILY POST reports that Osholo community is located in Uwanno Kingdom, Etsako East Local Government Area of ​​the state.

The Public Relations Officer of the Edo State Police Command, SP Moses Yamu, who spoke to newsmen in Benin City, said the command received the report of the incident on Saturday.

“We are meeting with community leaders regarding this unfortunate incident while tactical teams have been deployed to comb the crime scene and surrounding areas for possible arrest of the suspects.

“DPOs sharing borders with this area have also been alerted about this to be on the lookout for these suspects.

“The command will appreciate any information from members of the public that could assist police in tracing the perpetrators,” he said.

It was gathered that the drummer was killed on Saturday, October 26, 2024 between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., along Iviukwe road in the community.

Although the details of the incident are still unclear, no one has been able to determine what led to the drummer’s death.

A resident of the community, who spoke on condition of anonymity, however, said that police officers are no longer present in Agenebode, the administrative headquarters of the region.
