Nemanja Vidic lists two things Ruben Amorim needs to succeed at Manchester United

There is no shortage of work at United for Amorim, who will want to apply his preferred style of football to the players.

United are currently 13th in the Premier League, with 15 points out of 33 possible.

Having beaten Leicester City 3-0 in the previous outing, under Van Nistelrooy, the aim will be for Amorim to achieve a similar result when the Reds travel to Ipswich Town after the international break.

Nemanja Vidic speaks on his new appointment

Although the Serbian admits he doesn’t know much about Amorim, he has noticed the positive vibes emanating from his successful Sporting CP team.

Talk to Aerial sports Commenting on the appointment, Vidic highlighted some of the important factors United must master for Amorim to succeed.

“I don’t know much about him. (But) obviously I know he had a lot of success at Sporting Lisbon,” » said Vidic.

“He seems like a very positive guy and I think he has a winning mentality. He played at the highest level. He was a good player. He has a very good background.

“But, for me, what managers and coaches need in modern football is, above all, good recruitment and the ability to deal with players, the media and even people at the club. I hope that he is the right man for the club.

Vidic added: “Work needs to be done in the next transfer windows. Not just the players they’re going to sign – I think some players definitely need to try and find new teams.

Verdict on the dismissal of Erik ten Hag

While they had Vidic for an interview, it would have been a waste not to ask her for her thoughts on Ten Hag’s firing.

“It’s hard to say whether it was fair or not. But it absolutely must be said that Erik ten Hag has benefited from the support of the club over the years. The club has invested a lot of money in the Ten Hag philosophy, but if you look at the results, my expectations and those of the fans were much higher.

“But I’m not sure it’s just a problem with the coach. I think we need to look at the bigger picture. Other things must be good to help the coach perform and give the best of his abilities. Sometimes you don’t need the best player in the world to play for your club, but you need the right character.
