Former multiple-time TNA X-Division Champion and perennial “WrestleMania Weekend winner” “Speedball” Mike Bailey is set to sign with AEW after his TNA wrestling contract expired earlier this month.

Our own Bryan Alvarez confirmed a previous report from PWInsider that Bailey’s TNA deal closed on November 1st. Fightful then reported on Bailey’s expected next destination as AEW.

Bailey filed trademarks on his name this month and showed up at the recent TNA tapings in Detroit where he lost his X-Division title to Moose in a bout that aired last Thursday.

Bailey previously agreed to a deal with WWE three years ago.but he said the company then “took a different direction” despite his willingness to sign.

The Fightful report doesn’t say when Bailey is expected to sign or when he might start, but it’s clear he can do so whenever he wants.

The 34-year-old frequently wrestles in the indies, appearing for GCW, Maple Leaf Pro, Deadlock and Wrestling Revolver in addition to TNA in the last month alone.
