The new vision of audiobook producer Kanarit Audiobooks

After establishing a strong presence in the US market, Israeli company Kanarit Audiobooks is making a significant move into its home country by signing a long-term deal with bestselling fantasy author Nika. The partnership aims to produce film and multicast audiobook adaptations of three of Nika’s bestselling novels, which have already gained popularity in Israel and abroad. The audiobooks will be produced in English, including Duet of Delusion and Clarity – a collection including Prayer of the Damned and Sin of the Saints – alongside The Death Knight.

Currently, the company is holding auditions to recruit actors to play Nika’s unique and vibrant characters, with each actor dedicated to a single role. The complex productions are expected to be completed within eight months, after which listeners will be able to enjoy them on major streaming platforms like Audible, Spotify and Storytel.

Founded four years ago in the United States by Israeli entrepreneurs Yael Yekutiel and Gil Geva, Kanarit Audiobooks operated primarily in Los Angeles and New York, the heart of the audiobook industry. Drawing on extensive experience in media and audio, the founders chose to specialize in cinematic audiobooks, a distinct subgenre within the audiobook industry. These productions feature actors who bring characters to life in a realistic dialogue style, with soundscapes featuring original or carefully selected music and cutting-edge sound technology, delivering movie theater quality. Kanarit also integrates AI-based systems to streamline production processes. For many listeners, these multicast cinema versions provide an immersive experience that rivals traditional reading, providing access to literary works in new and engaging formats.

Kanarit was quickly recognized in the United States as a leading innovator in the field, entering into strategic partnerships with major publishers such as HarperCollins, Simon & Schuster, Macmillan and Audible. To date, she has produced dozens of multi-release cinematographic works. The company operates under two business models: some audiobooks are published directly by Kanarit, while others are created in partnership with major publishing houses.

Yael Yekutiel, co-founder of Kanarit Audiobooks, said: “The audiobook industry, particularly in film production, is one of the most exciting and fastest growing sectors today.
