FORMER RANGERS defender and candidate Kevin Muscat has spoken out about his job search last year.

But he was pricked at job by Philippe Clément.

However, Muscat has now revealed he has his own doubts about where he will move. following before settling down China and the port of Shanghai.

He just landed Chinese Super League title to add to the titles collected in its country and in Japan where he followed twice Ange Postecoglou at Melbourne Victory and Yokohama F.Marinos.

The Chinese title has been awarded to him and he now prepares for the Cup final later this month.

All because he did it HIS way, he says.

Without naming specific clubs, he reflected on his time in contention for the Gers. jobMuscat said he began to have his own doubts after being questioned about the management methods that served him so well.

He believes that doubts could have returned to him from the first drop in form, but he is more than satisfied with his decision to go to China.

Muscat said aleagues.com.au: “I had one or two private discussions with different parties towards the end of last season and in the discussions people from the clubs said: ‘Well, it really can’t work here and how do you know it can work here, your methods?

“When I finished those conversations, I was like you know what? Maybe this isn’t for me, because they haven’t followed me enough to really take the risk.

“While here, the sports director Mr. (Xiang) Sun, he is one of the first two Chinese players to play in Europe.

“It was just the opposite: ‘I want you to come here and do what you did in Shanghai. I want you to build it your way.’

“I’m really happy for these guys because it was a completely different conversation.

“I wasn’t trying to justify why it could work. I’m not going to try to justify my work.

“What that means is you don’t really believe it.

“At some point there’s going to be a bump in the road and you know what? It’s going to be the first thing that comes to mind.”

Muscat are aiming for the Chinese double and will meet Shandong Taishan next weekend in the Cup final.

Meanwhile, another elder Rangers Australian defender Tony Vidmar also news on the employment front.
