Vice presidential candidate Walz campaigns in Phoenix with just over a week until Election Day

PHOENIX (AZFamille) — Vice-presidential candidate Tim Walz rallied his supporters in Maryvale on Saturday, just ten days before Election Day.

The Minnesota governor spoke at Trevor Browne High School and laid out what he believes is at stake in the November election.

The Arizona family spoke with Harris-Walz supporters at the rally, many of whom said they had already voted.

“I think their connection to people who have engaging ideas, their ability to take the pulse of people who need help and support from the government, I really like their ideas,” said Alison Wamsley, a supporter .

“I think they are telling the truth and want to do what they say, it’s not about power and trying to get things done,” added Ben Siemer, another supporter.

Arizona Democratic leaders such as Sen. Mark Kelly and his wife, former Rep. Gabby Giffords, spoke before Walz at the rally, as did comedian George Lopez and political commentator Ana Navarro.

Governor Walz spoke with supporters for approximately 30 minutes Saturday evening, criticizing former President Donald Trump and his character, encouraging voters to vote early. He also addressed issues such as price gouging and health insurance.

“When the Republican Party once talked about freedom, they really meant it. But let’s be clear, these are not those guys. It’s not those guys. When these guys talk about freedom, the freedom to be in your exam room, the freedom to tell you who you can marry, the freedom to tell you what books you can read, that’s who are these guys,” Walz said.

In Arizona, in-person early voting ends on November 1. The last day to return your ballot is October 29.
