Family of hit-and-run victim holds candlelight vigil in search of justice and peace

MOBILE, AlabamaWALA) – On October 21, police said Rodney Williams was riding his motorcycle when he was struck by a vehicle after losing control of his motorcycle. MPD said the driver who hit him did not stop.

This all happened around 9 p.m. in the area of ​​St. Stephens Road and Cox Street.

According to Mobile Fire Department personnel, Williams was pronounced dead at the scene.

His wife, Donyale Williams, is planning a vigil not only to remember her husband, but also to seek justice.

“Me, my two sons and my grandson, we need justice and peace for my husband,” Williams said. “My husband was a nice person, he would have given you a shirt even if he had just received it, he would give it to you. He was just a loving person.

Williams said she hopes to find the woman who tried to help her husband that night so she can thank her for what she did.

The vigil will take place on November 17 at 5 p.m. at 1608 St. Stephens Road and is open to the public.
