La Liga giants Barcelona received some very positive personnel news on Saturday.

This comes amid confirmation that Eric García has accelerated his recovery from injury.

Eric, for his part, has been absent since last month, having been forced to leave at the last minute from pre-match preparation for Barcelona’s encounter with Sevilla.

The former Manchester City player has since missed Barca’s last six outings, against Sevilla, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Espanyol, Red Star Belgrade and Real Sociedad.

After an initial uncertainty, it was confirmed that Eric’s problem was a pubalgia, a chronic lesion to the groin which often affects athletes.

If the latest images to emerge on Saturday are to be believed, the Spanish international appears to be getting closer to an imminent return.

As illustrated below, Eric is now participating in high intensity, indoor and outdoor training exercises, with and without balloon.

If everything goes as planned, the 23-year-old should, in turn, receive the medical green light to return to the field against Celta Vigo on November 23.
