Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs accused of breaking prison rules to ‘corruptly influence’ witnesses, jurors: documents

Prosecutors accuse Sean “Diddy” Combs of trying to “corruptly influence” his sex trafficking trial by evading how his calls are monitored in prison, “blackmailing victims” and other explosive allegations .

The federal government claimed in an objection filed Friday and obtained by Page Six that since the disgraced music mogul, 55, has been in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, he “repeatedly” communicated with others in a manner that violated prison regulations.

He allegedly used the phone accounts of “at least eight other inmates,” apparently in an effort to avoid prosecutors hearing his calls with people not on his approved contact list.

Prosecutors allege Combs paid other inmates to use their accounts through payment processing apps and deposits into precinct accounts.

While on a call, the “Bad Boy for Life” rapper also allegedly broke another rule by asking the person on the other line – including family members and lawyers – to “add more other people via a three-way conference.

“This practice is also not authorized by the BOP (Federal Bureau of Prisons) because it allows the identity of those contacted to be concealed,” court documents state.

“Defendant’s repeated circumvention of BOP regulations – almost immediately after his arrival at MDC – speaks volumes about his ability to comply with all conditions of release. »

Prosecutors say Combs also initiated a “public relations” strategy during his calls in an effort to “use public statements to change public perception.”

They cited the “Last Night” rapper’s 55th birthday earlier this month as an example of this alleged plan.

“At the defendant’s carefully organized direction, the defendant’s children posted a video on their respective social media accounts showing the defendant’s identity. children gathered to celebrate the accused’s birthday“, prosecutors wrote in the court filing.

They add that “this kind of interference with a fair trial, the defendant’s own words clearly show that his intention is to improperly influence the jury in this criminal proceeding.” »

Prosecutors further allege that Combs intends to “anonymously release information that he believes will assist his defense in this case.”

They conclude that the artist’s alleged behavior “clearly suggests that the accused’s objective is to blackmail victims and witnesses, either to silence them or to provide testimony useful to his defense.” .

Page Six reached out to Combs’ representatives for comment but did not immediately receive a response.

The founder of Bad Boy Records was placed in police custody in September in New York following a months-long government investigation, which included searches at his homeon his alleged misconduct.

Combs was accused with racketeering conspiracy; sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion; and transportation to engage in prostitution.

The former “Making the Band” producer reportedly hosted infamous parties nicknamed “Freak Offs” during which several alleged victims were forced to engage in criminal sexual behavior.

He has denied any wrongdoing and pleaded not guilty. The trial start date has been set for May 5, 2025.
