Texas A&M basketball star helps Twin City Mission prepare for colder weather

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – Texas A&M basketball guard Wade Taylor and his foundation spent Saturday giving back to the community.

Taylor donated gloves and hats to Twin City Mission in preparation for the colder months ahead. He said it’s important that everyone has a way to stay warm.

“Just to give back and make sure everyone has the same opportunity,” Taylor said. “I know everyone may not be as lucky as the person next to them, so I just wanted to make sure I did my part and donated to help everyone get through the same good vacation.”

Taylor donated 480 items. Twin City Mission will host its coat and blanket drive from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, November 21.

There will be drop boxes in different parts of the city, including of course the main Twin City Mission building in College Station.

Taylor is no stranger to giving back to the 12th Man community. He has teamed up with the Boys and Girls Club of the Brazos Valley for the past two years for a backpack collection and gift.

In just four games, the graduate student scored 53 points, helping the Aggies to a 3-1 start.

Taylor and the Aggies are back in action at Reed Arena on Wednesday, November 20 against Southern.
