Dodgers fans celebrate victory with street takeover in East Los Angeles

It was a chaotic scene Friday evening after the Los Angeles Dodgers won the first game against the New York Yankees in the World Series.

SkyFOX was aware of a noisy takeover on the street East of Los Angeles, which prompted a warning from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department for fans to celebrate responsibly.

“Unruly and illegal behavior will not be tolerated,” the sheriff’s department said. “This is a moment of pride and unity for the community as we support our home team; however, it is essential that this is done safely.”

As a result, the LASD has deployed additional personnel throughout the county to prevent such dangerous scenes from occurring.

Illegal acts such as vandalism, public drunkenness and illegal gatherings are crimes, the officials added.

“Such acts can detract from the joy of the occasion and jeopardize the safety of our community. Individuals engaging in illegal conduct will be held accountable.”

The Dodgers beat the Yankees on Saturday night to win the World Series game 4-2.

Game 3 is scheduled for Monday at Yankee Stadium. First pitch is at 5:08 p.m. PT.
