Watch: Bears end TD drought with rushing score against Packers

The Chicago Bears found the end zone for the first time in nearly a month in Sunday’s home game against the Green Bay Packers.

On a 3rd-and-goal late in the second quarter, with the Bears leading 7-3, Chicago sophomore running back Roschon Johnson rushed for a 1-yard touchdown.

According to NFL researcher Dante Koplowitz-Fleming, Johnson’s score was the Bears’ first touchdown since Oct. 27, ending a drought of 25 consecutive offensive drives without a touchdown. Koplowitz-Fleming added that Chicago’s longest TD drought occurred in Weeks 12-14 in 2005 (30 practices).

The Bears offense has been disappointing all season long. Through its first nine games, Chicago ranks 24th in the league in points scored (19.4).

As a result, the Bears fired offensive coordinator Shane Waldron, replacing him on an interim basis with passing game coordinator Thomas Brown. earlier this week.

Watch to see if the coaching change sparks the Bears’ inept offense and helps rookie quarterback Caleb Williams gain a foothold. Entering the game against Green Bay, the 2024 No. 1 overall pick hasn’t thrown a TD pass since three consecutive matches.
