Rajasthan government to form 10-member committee to review school curriculum and submit report within 30 days of training

The Rajasthan education department will soon form a 10-member committee to review the state’s public school curriculum.

Education Minister Madan Dilawar said the committee would submit its report within 30 days of its formation.

Earlier this year, in October, Dilawar announced plans to add cow information in the primary school curriculum.

“We will discuss with academics and experts and, if possible, try to add information about cows to primary school textbooks,” he said.

The minister also said schools should show educational films about cows to improve students’ understanding.

The announcement follows a directive from the Department of Livestock, which recently advised officials to use the term “deprived” instead of “lost” when it comes to cows.

Similarly, Dilawar, MP from Ramganj Mandi in Kota, had said in September that any textbook describing the Mughal emperor Akbar, considered “great”, would be burned.

He had said that Akbar had plundered the country for years and stressed that no one would find any mention of him as a “great personality” in the school textbooks of Rajasthan.

“We have checked all the textbooks. There is no mention of him. If he is there, then the textbook will be burned,” he said.
