6th Annual Budimas Night of a Thousand Blessings Raises RM400,000 to Support Underprivileged Children in Malaysia

The Budimas Charitable Foundation organized its 6th Night of a Thousand Blessings, an annual fundraising gala exclusively for underprivileged and Orang Asli children of Malaysia. The black-tie event, held at Pullman Hotel KLCC in Kuala Lumpur, attracted more than 400 well-wishers, business partners and community members and donated RM400,000. This is seen as a key step towards creating a powerful platform to accommodate poor children in Malaysia.

Chairman of the Budimas Charitable Foundation, YM Tunku Dato’ Yaacob Khyra, was the guest of honour. Also present at this important occasion were the Budimas Board of Directors, Board of Trustees, corporate sponsors, media representatives and the children who benefited from this admirable effort.

“We are gathered here tonight not only to celebrate, but also to remember the responsibility we bear to the most vulnerable members of our society. With every ringgit raised, we give hope, stability and a better future to children who deserve this chance. to prosper. Tunku Dato’ Yaacob Khyra shared his heartfelt opening speech.

The Budimas Charitable Foundation expresses its sincere gratitude to the main sponsors of the event, including Sunway Medical Centre, Farm Fresh Malaysia, United U-Li, Hasani Group of Companies, Gleneagles Hospital Kuala Lumpur, MAA Group and Mydin Mohamed Holdings. The Budimas Charitable Foundation’s notable initiatives

Since its inception, the Budimas Charitable Foundation has been dedicated to improving the lives of disadvantaged children by allocating funds to a variety of programs that make a significant impact:

Budimas Home Charity Fund (BHCF): This program currently supports over 50 children’s homes in Malaysia, providing a safe and nurturing environment for more than 2,000 displaced or abandoned children.

Budimas Food Charity Fund (BFCF): This initiative provides daily meals to children in need and has now reached over 5,000 students in 160 schools, including new extensions in Sabah. The foundation intends to expand this effort to include 1,000 additional children in the coming year.

Budimas Education Charity Fund (BECF): Budimas has established 12 libraries in Orang Asli communities since 2015, offering more than 6,000 books and digital resources. The foundation aims to build 12 additional libraries in 2025 to improve educational opportunities for indigenous children.

In 2024, the foundation also launched two new programs, expanding its commitment to holistic child development:

Budimas Children Medical Care Fund (BCMCF): Collaborates with Gleneagles Kuala Lumpur and other institutions to offer life-saving surgeries and essential care to children with serious illnesses to provide medical support.

Budimas Performing Arts Fund (BPAF): promotes self-expression and confidence in children while preserving cultural heritage by introduce them to the arts, which include music, dance and traditional performances.

The Night of a Thousand Blessings was an indelible evening, filled with inspiring speeches and performances, including the Budimas Orion Home Choir, traditional Gendang and dance performances, accompanied by vibrant live music that enhanced the atmosphere of the event. Additionally, the dinner included a silent auction during which attendees generously bid on distinctive items that would advance Budimas’ mission.

Ms. Anne Rajasaikaran, Senior Director of Budimas, spoke passionately about the foundation’s progress: “Thanks to the unwavering support of our donors and partners, we are able to help more than 10,000 children each year through our programs. But our mission continues and every contribution brings us closer to our goal of ensuring that no child in Malaysia is left without hope. »
