The National Stock Exchange (NSE) has banned trading in futures and options (F&O) contracts in five stocks for Monday, November 18, 2024, as they have exceeded 95% of the market-wide position limit (MWPL). ).

The same shares will, however, remain available for regular spot transactions.

F&O Prohibited List

Aarti Industries, Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail, GNFC, Granules India and Hindustan Copper are the five stocks on the NSE’s F&O banned list for November 18, 2024.

Indeed, derivative contracts on these securities have exceeded 95% of the market-wide position limit, the NSE said.

“All clients/members shall trade the derivative contracts of the said security only to reduce their positions through offsetting positions,” an NSE statement said. “Any increase in open positions will result in appropriate criminal and disciplinary action.”

How did markets behave before?

The benchmark BSE Sensex fell 110.64 points or 0.14% in the previous trading session on November 14, 2024, which marked the third consecutive session of losses as foreign institutional investors (FIIs) continued to sell.

The Sensex closed at 77,580.31, down 266.14 points or 0.34 per cent at 77,424.81.

Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty fell 26.35 points or 0.11 per cent to close at 23,532.70.

The stock market was closed on Friday, November 15 due to the Guru Nanak Jayanti festival.
