A report was issued at 7:02 p.m. Sunday by the National Weather Service for an elevated fire danger through Monday at 7 p.m. for Passaic, Hudson, Bergen, Essex and Union counties.

“An increased risk of fire spread will continue on Monday. Low relative humidity between 25 and 35 percent and dry fuels will favor the spread of any fire that ignites. Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged. Be sure to properly extinguish or eliminate any potential fire,” according to the weather service.
