Thirty years after drowning her two young sons in a lake, a killer mom prepares for a second chance at freedom with his next parole hearing. People closest to her case and aware of her prison past, however, say the South Carolina woman does not deserve to be released.

“I don’t trust him,” former prison guard Alfred Rowe said on Fox Nation.Susan Smith, The Killer Mom: 30 Years Later,” saying Smith should not be released.

Hosted by Fox News Judge Jeanine Pirro, the show includes testimony from the former prosecutor on her case, a former South Carolina correctional officer and one of Smith’s former lovers.

“This woman is an operator,” Pirro said. “Reports on America” THURSDAY. “Even though it’s been 30 years, she doesn’t seem to have much remorse towards her children. But the children’s father is very upset that she could get parole.”

In October 1994, Susan Smith strapped his sons, Michael, 3, and Alexander Smith, 14 months, into the back seat of his car and let him drive down a ramp leading to John D. Long Lake in Union, South Carolina.

Smith, 22 at the time, saw that it took six minutes for the water to fill the car, drown his boys and sink the car to the bottom of the lake.

The Smiths pleaded on national television for the return of their children after Susan claimed a black man carjacked her and kidnapped the boys.

Nine days later, she confessed that she had drowned her sons herself. Smith, now 53, was sentenced to life in prison in 1995 for the murders.

The Fox Nation Special traces his time in prison and explores his checkered record including illegal drug use, self-harm and several disciplinary sanctions. She would also have had more than one affair with prison guards.

“I never thought that mind games would ever work on me within the institution,” Rowe said, adding that the case “haunted” him.

Despite his long criminal record, Smith works to gain support for his freedom.

“Susan’s number one priority is Susan Smith,” former prosecutor in Smith’s case, Tommy Pope, said on Twitter. the Fox Nation show.

“I think Susan is looking for opportunity, and that’s what she’s always been looking for…I think Susan is remorseful that this happened to her. I think she’s remorseful for how it affected Susan .”

As the parole board prepares to evaluate Smith’s case, former South Carolina Department of Corrections agent Jon Ozmint said he is not worried about getting a parole by Smith.

“She won’t make it,” says Ozmint.

The South Carolina Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services has set Smith’s parole hearing for November 20.
