Former President Donald Trump renewed his previous comments suggesting that political opponents pose a threat to the United States, calling them “enemies within.”

“When I say ‘the enemy within,’ the other side goes crazy,” Trump said Sunday on stage at Madison Square Garden. “They have done very bad things, they are indeed the enemy within,” he said.

Trump previously spouted this rhetoric during an appearance on Fox News earlier this month.

“I think the biggest problem is the people on the inside,” Trump told Fox News anchor Maria Bartiromo, saying Democrats pose more of a threat to the 2024 presidential election than majors foreign adversaries such as China and Russia.

“We have some very nasty people. We have some sick, crazy radical left people,” Trump said at the time.

Trump suggested deploying the military against them on American soil, arguing that without proof, they would be more likely to sow chaos on November 5 than his supporters – despite what happened on January 6, 2021.

“I think it should be very easily handled, if necessary, by the National Guard, or if really necessary, by the military, because they can’t let that happen,” Trump told Bartiromo.
