THE Cowboys have dealt with their fair share of injuries, but their problems go beyond who is not on the field. Head coach Mike McCarthy has drawn the ire of Dallas fans this season as the team, particularly its defense, has failed to live up to expectations. Enter Week 8the Cowboys field the 31st highest-scoring defense, putting significant pressure on McCarthy and new Dallas defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer.

Now, after a bye week, fans and analysts will see if the time off was beneficial to Dallas’ playoff push or if the badly injured 49ers can take advantage of a reeling Cowboys team on national television.

The 49ers lead for the first time since 3-0 after rookie running back Isaac Guerendo ran 4 yards up the middle for San Francisco’s first touchdown of the game. Tight end George Kittle helped set up the scoring play with a 43-yard reception one play earlier.

It’s 13-10 for the 49ers two minutes into the second half.

San Francisco entered Cowboys territory on their fourth drive of the game before stalling just outside the red zone. Anders Carlson made his second field goal of the game from 44 yards out to cut his team’s deficit to four points.

It’s 10-6 Cowboys with 1:30 left in the first half.

After the two-minute warning, the NBC broadcast showed Mason returning to the 49ers locker room with medical staff. He is being evaluated for a shoulder injury and his return is questionable.

In the meantime, rookie Isaac Guerendo will take over as San Francisco’s primary back.

Brandon Aubrey connected on a 29-yard field goal attempt to cap an eight-play, 46-yard drive that gave the Cowboys a lead of seven with three and a half minutes left in the first half.

Aubrey missed practice the week before Sunday night’s game. due to jury duty.

One play after 49ers cornerback Charvarius Ward was flagged for pass interference in the end zone, Ezekiel Elliott completed a handoff over the middle for a 1-yard score. It was the running back’s second touchdown of the season and gave his team a 7-3 lead.

San Francisco will take over after kickoff, approximately four minutes into the second quarter.

Following a Mitch Wishnowsky punt with less than three minutes remaining in the first quarter, the Cowboys and 49ers faced off. The players were split up before a larger fight began, but there were two of them, making up for unnecessary roughness penalties with one against each team.

The Cowboys had just entered 49ers territory 10 minutes into the first quarter when Dak Prescott attempted to hit KaVontae Turpin with a deep pass down the left sideline. Safety Ji’Ayir Brown helped cover the top and cut under the throw to take it away.

San Francisco takes over at its own 8-yard line with 4:27 left in the first quarter.

The 49ers’ first drive of the game stopped at the Cowboys’ 32-yard line and kicker Anders Carlson was tapped for the 50-yard field goal attempt.

The kick was good and the 49ers took an early lead. The big play on seven plays and 55 yards was a 47-yard passing play from quarterback Brock Purdy to receiver Deebo Samuel.

Carlson, along with security guard Adrian Amos, were high from the practice squad for Sunday night’s game. Jake Moody, the 49ers’ regular kicker, is nursing a sprained ankle.

The running back had not been listed on the Cowboys’ injury report all week. According to multiple reports, Dowdle began feeling ill after arriving at Levi’s Stadium before Sunday night’s game. After the Cowboys medical staff evaluated the starting running back, the team ruled him out of the prime-time game with the 49ers.

Two-time All-Pro Micah Parsons will miss a third straight game as he continues to recover from a sprained ankle he suffered in the Cowboys game. Week 4game against the New York Giants. The linebacker hadn’t practiced all week as Dallas returned from its bye week.

The star only played four snaps in San Francisco Week 7 loss to the Kansas City Chiefsand was in the hospital as recently as Tuesday. Samuel did not practice Wednesday, but participated in a limited manner Thursday and Friday and is active against the Cowboys Sunday night.

George Kittle, whom Shanahan announced Monday, will also be active Sunday evening. The All-Pro tight end was dealing with a sprained foot that also limited him in practice this week.
