Man injured in assault at Duncombe Place taxi rank in York

A man and a woman were attacked at a taxi rank in York by suspects they had met on a night out, police said.

The man was left with black eyes and a broken nose following the incident, which happened in Duncombe Place between 04:00 and 04:30 GMT on Wednesday 6 November.

The victims had met the suspects at the Drawing Board bar earlier in the evening and were then followed to the taxi rank, North Yorkshire Police said.

The force has released CCTV footage of two men they would like to speak to in relation to the incident.

Both men were described as being in their late 20s to early 40s.

One of them had blonde hair and a receding hairline.

He was short, with a larger build and wore a leather jacket resembling a bar uniform, police said.

The second man was described as tall, with a beard, glasses and light brown hair with a receding hairline.

Anyone with information is asked to get in touch.
