‘You deserve what you get’ Shannon Sharpe takes aim as historically bad Dallas Cowboys face prospect of NFL history

The Dallas Cowboys are in the midst of a historic season.

Unfortunately for the struggling owner Jerry Jonesthe milestones they set aren’t exactly what he had in mind.

Jones envisioned AT&T Stadium as Team USA’s gleaming headquarters – a place the opposition feared to tread.

But the 3-7 Cowboys lack comfort with the sunlight robs CeeDee Lamb of touchdowns and part of the roof collapsed before Monday’s crushing defeat to the Houston Texans.

Dak Prescott missed the 34-10 loss, which saw Dallas trail by at least 20 points on its own court for the sixth straight game – a NFL save.

With the franchise QB on injured reserve for the remainder of the campaign, the Cowboys are in danger of experiencing the worst home season of all time.

A crumbling offensive line allowed backup passer Cooper Rush to be sacked five times – and Shannon Sharpe had sympathy for Dallas’ star passer, Micah Parsons.

“Every time you allow Cooper Rush to throw the ball 55 times, you deserve what you get. A whiplash,” he said on his Podcast about a nightcap.

“The fact that they don’t have a running game, how did you want them to move the ball down the field?” asked co-host Chad Ochocinco.

“They don’t have a passing game either. They threw the ball 55 times and scored 10 points,” Sharpe joked.

“The offensive line is terrible Ocho. I mean, Zack Martin. If Zack Martin goes to the Hall of Fame in the first ballot…

“I watched him get beat with a swim move for three straight plays. One for a sack, he got rid of the ball on the next play, then boom. Three straight plays. Derek Barnett was the guy with the swim.

“Danielle Hunter was doing it like he was on the dance floor. He was doing whatever he wanted, man, just being a clown.

“And Micah is looking on the sidelines looking at the jumbotron thinking to himself. I know exactly what he’s thinking, ‘Damn. I wish I could rush these sorry m****s. I’m like eight bags in the game.’ “

Sharpe believes the blame for the Cowboys’ woes lies with Jones.

“You’re talking about a complete reconstruction. Normally, when people redo their house, they do the cooking, step by step,” he added.

“Then they’ll take care of the bathroom. They might take care of the lawn, the roof.

“You can’t rebuild a bathroom when your roof is leaking. You can’t do a roof restoration when your house is infested with rats.

“That’s what Jerry allowed to happen. He has a dilapidated, dilapidated building, literally and figuratively, because you saw boards falling from the ceiling.

“That’s what happened because you can’t tell him anything. It’s hard to tell a man something worth that much money.

“Often you have yes-men around you because they tell you what you want to hear and not what you need to know.”

The Cowboys are on the road against the Washington Commanders this week, which could be a positive given their current struggles in Texas.
