Quarterback Kurtis Rourke leads Indiana’s rise to college football prominence.

During Rourke’s first 10 games with the Hoosiersthe 24-year-old threw 21 touchdowns and helped Indiana go from 3-9 last season to undefeated.

Rourke looks to keep Indiana’s winning streak alive a top-five game against Ohio State. Play Ohio StadiumRourke will be just 80 miles from the field he spent three seasons playing for starting Ohio University.

Here are four things to know about Rourke ahead of the Ohio State-Indiana game:

Kurtis Rourke began his academic career at Ohio University

Rourke began his college career with the Bobcats in 2019.

After making one appearance during his first year with Ohio, Rourke was named the Bobcats’ starter with three games remaining in the 2020 season. Rourke remained a starter the following three seasons, leading Ohio to a championship title. the Mid-American Conference East division and was named conference MVP.

With one year of eligibility remaining, Rourke transferred to Indiana before this season.

Rourke recorded 7,666 yards and 50 touchdowns while playing for the Bobcats.

Kurtis Rourke’s older brother, Nathan Rourke, also played for Ohio University.

In Rourke’s first season with the Bobcats, it was his older brother, Nathan Rourke, taking snaps for Ohio.

Nathan started at Fort Scott Community College in Kansas before transferring to Ohio, where he spent three seasons from 2017-2019.

In the 2020 Canadian Football League Draft, Nathan was selected in the second round by the British Columbia Lions, a team for whom he played over 30 games. He set the CFL single-season record for completion percentage (76.7%) in 2022.

Nathan also had short stints with four NFL teams – the Jacksonville Jaguars, New England Patriots, New York Giants and Atlanta Falcons – but never logged any playing time.

Kurtis Rourke comes from Canada

The Rourke brothers got their start in football in Ontario, Canada, playing at Holy Trinity High School.
