Following the declaration of 10% cash dividend reserved for general shareholders for the last financial year, shares of Khulna Power surged 23.96% during the first trading session on Monday as there was no circuit breaker to change price on the first trading day following the dividend announcement.

During the session, its share price gained Tk 2.30 to reach Tk 11.90 on the Dhaka Stock Exchange.

The company also told the stock exchange that it had shut down its two power plants as the government was not meeting electricity demand at the plants in recent days.
