PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) – The search for evidence continues in the disappearance of a woman who has been missing since 2016, according to the Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office.

A search warrant for a property on Moorefield Bridge Road in Danville was served on Monday by several law enforcement agencies, whose members returned to the scene on Tuesday. They are looking for evidence or information to advance the investigation into the disappearance of Soledad Najera, 46, who lived at this property. The search is expected to continue until Wednesday, November 20.

While the investigation is ongoing, investigators declined to release information about what was collected by law enforcement, but “law enforcement wants to reassure the community that we are committed to carry out these operations with their safety as top priority. We also want to reassure everyone that there is no threat to the community,” according to the sheriff’s office.

Najera is originally from Durango, Mexico, and attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Danville, Virginia.
