Let’s organize a conference called “Big Ten” which actually has 18 teams. Or how about the “Big 12,” which has 16 member universities? How about the Atlantic Coast Conference with two teams in California?

Some realignments have become normal over the years, but the “super conferences” created last season are simply ridiculous. The above are just a few of the examples that college football fans looked past as the Big Ten and SEC plundered every other conference and changed the landscape of college football as we knew it.

A game like Oregon vs. Ohio State will take some getting used to as a Big Ten game. Speaking of the Ducks, things got so complicated that it took several days for the powers that be to figure out that Oregon had actually clinched a spot in the Big Ten championship game last weekend with its win against Wisconsin.
