Melina Names Her Favorites Who Deserve More Love, Maven Reflects On Her WWE Exit

During a recent appearance on the “MuscleMan Malcolm” podcast, former WWE Superstar Melina expressed her desire for WWE to honor more former Superstars on a regular basis.

Mélina said: “Certain ‘GOATs’, like a Jazz or a Lisa Marie, (they) are not recognized. Even as Molly Holly, she should get more recognition than she did. Ivory should be recognized more than she has been.

Molly Holly was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2021 while Ivory was inducted in 2018.

During a recent appearance on “The false finish” Podcast, former WWE Superstar Maven discussed his wrestling skills and admitted that he only truly developed his technique after being released from WWE.

You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:

When he really learned to fight: “I didn’t really learn how to wrestle until after I was released. When you’re in WWE, you’re fighting against a time limit. You have six minutes and those six minutes can very easily be reduced to five by the time you get there. When you go out, every move you go, ‘Okay, I gotta take two punches, shoot, duck a clothesline’ because you know they’ll go to a Chef Boyardee commercial if I don’t finish this match.

On being against the deadline: “Each match was limited in time. Once I got out and once I got into independent films and once I started working with what was then UWF, which was kind of like the TNA house shows, a Promoter told me, “Hey man, go ahead, 15.” at 20, I don’t care, just entertain them.’

On his difficulty understanding what to call things behind the scenes: “I would work with guys like Billy Gunn and Rhino and we wouldn’t talk about behind-the-scenes stuff. I would work with Billy and he would avoid me. I was like, “Billy, what do we do?” He was like, “Man, we’re going to find a solution there, listen to what they’re looking for.” » Once you learn how to do this, it’s so free. Each audience will be different. You might have something planned and if the crowd isn’t enthusiastic, you better be able to turn it around and do something else. Once I was able to learn to listen and do that, the struggle became much easier.
