GULFPORT, Miss. (WLOX) – Gulfport Police are working a wreck on Highway 49 Tuesday evening.

According to GPD, the accident involved a pedestrian. This happened on Highway 49/25th Avenue near 19th Street.

GPD says all southbound lanes of Highway 49 are closed, from 19th Street to 18th Street.

Expect delays in the area and avoid them if possible.

Gulfport police say one person was arrested. The victim is in stable condition as of 8 p.m.
