Rajnath Singh urges Indian Air Force to prioritize operational readiness and indigenization

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday highlighted the critical role of the Indian Air Force in safeguarding national sovereignty and called on senior leadership to ensure operational readiness and indigenous progress of the force.

In his address to the Air Force Commanders’ Conference in Delhi, Singh underlined the government’s commitment to fostering “atmanirbharta» (autonomy) in defense capabilities.

He directed the Air Force to improve capacity and capacity building processes to align with the country’s national aspirations.

He commended the Air Force for its unwavering professionalism and adaptability in the face of evolving challenges.

Before the speech, Singh was welcomed by Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal AP Singh who briefed him on the operational capabilities of the Air Force.

The conference was attended by key defense officials including Chief of Defense Staff General Anil Chauhan, Defense Secretary RK Singh, DRDO Chairman Dr SV Kamat and Secretary ( Defense Production) Sanjay Kumar, alongside senior Air Force leaders.

The ongoing conference facilitated detailed discussions on critical operational, administrative and strategic issues. It provides a platform for Air Force leaders to assess current challenges and strategize future directions to maintain excellence.

As part of the proceedings, the leaders will also interact with the heads of the Army and Navy, emphasizing the importance of joint operational synergy.
