Liverpool ‘preparing brutal offer’ with Nottm Forest to ‘accept offer’ to sanction ‘inevitable’ transfer

Liverpool have reportedly learned how much it will cost to sign Nottingham Forest star Murillo in January or next summer.

Forest paid around £10m to sign Murillo of the Brazilian team Corinthians during the 2023 summer transfer window.

The 22-year-old has proven to be a great find and it’s only a matter of time before he lands a big move elsewhere.

Liverpool are believed to be in the market to sign a new centre-back as they need to find a long-term replacement for Virgil van Dijk.

The 33-year-old is out of contract at the end of this season. He could sign a new deal, but his shelf life is still limited and Liverpool would be wise to sign a centre-back even if they are considering an extension.

Earlier this year, presenter Gary Lineker suggested Liverpool are interested in Murillo after Alan Shearer revealed his “concern” with Arne Slot.

“The only slight worry would be if one of those two (Liverpool) centre-backs got injured,” Shearer said.

“I understand that they are going after Murillo de Forest,” Lineker said. “They were related to him anyway.”

Shearer added: “That’s true, interesting. Well, these two from Forest have also done very well this season, which is one of the reasons why Forest are flying high in the Premier League.

A new report from Football Insider complaints Liverpool have been “informed of the offer Forest would accept for Murillo”.

Nottm Forest reportedly want ‘more than £70m for in-demand defender Murillo’ as ‘Liverpool and Barcelona soar’.

“Forest will not consider January offers for the 22-year-old due to interest from Real Madrid.

“Real are in urgent need of defensive reinforcements following serious injuries to David Alaba and Eder Militao, while Barcelona and Liverpool are also keen on the Brazilian.”

“The Whites cannot currently afford Forest’s asking price, but could free up funds to complete a deal during the upcoming summer window.

Sources say Forest believe losing Murillo in the near future is “inevitable” as they go from strength to strength in the Premier League.

“The central defender will likely have a decision to make at the end of the 2024-25 campaign.

“He is thought to be flattered by interest from Europe’s top clubs, with the potential to play regularly in the Champions League a particularly big attraction.”

Liverpool could also consider signing a new striker as Mohamed Salah is another player in the final year of his contract.

Real Sociedad star Takefusa Kubo has been tipped to replace Salah and a report in Spain claims Liverpool are “preparing a brutal bid” for him.

“Takefusa Kubo, one of the most striking figures at Real Sociedad in recent seasons, could be about to take a significant leap in his career.

“Liverpool, always on the lookout for players to suit their dynamic style of play, have set their sights on Japanese youngsters as one of their main priorities for the upcoming transfer market.

“According to close sources, the Anfield team would be ready to put on the table an offer which would be around 80 million euros, a figure which would make it difficult for the Basque club to refuse the operation.”
