IGNOU PhD Registration Deadline Extended: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the registration deadlines for the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program 2024. Registrations have started from October 30, 2024 on the official portal ignouadm.samarth.edu.in. Interested and eligible candidates who are not yet enrolled in IGNOU PhD programs can submit their application by visiting the official website. Candidates have to pay a registration fee of Rs 1,000.

Admission to the IGNOU doctorate: steps to register

Candidates can follow the steps to submit their application for IGNOU PhD programs.
Step 1: Visit the official IGNOU admission portal.
Step 2: Click on the “New Registration” option in the candidate login section.
Step 3: Create an account by providing your name and password.
Step 4: When creating the account, a username will be sent to you by email and SMS.
Step 5: Log in using the username received and complete the application form.
Step 6: Upload the necessary documents and make the required payment.
Step 7: After submission, download and save the confirmation page for future reference.

Documents Required for IGNOU PhD Admission 2024

Candidates applying for IGNOU PhD admission are required to submit several documents including their birth certificate, academic transcripts, caste or income certificates (if applicable) and UGC NET-JRF or NET scorecards . A scanned passport-size photograph and signature are also required.

Admission Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in a relevant field with at least 55% marks, with a requirement of 50% for reserved category candidates. A valid UGC NET score with Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) or UGC NET score alone is required. Applicants must also comply with the reservation policies and norms established by the Indian Department of Personnel and Training (DOPT) for research programs.
