Ex-Jets QB: Aaron Rodgers is injured and he “completely fractured” the locker room

The dysfunction follows the New York Jetsand this continued on Tuesday with the dismissal of general manager Joe Douglas and the subsequent report in The Athletic that owner Woody Johnson took his meddling to new heights.

All this led to questions surrounding quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ futurewho was supposed to bring glory back to the Jets after a 2023 offseason trade. Spoiler alert: This will likely end unceremoniously with Rodgers being cut at the end of yet another losing season.

Naturally, Rodgers has generated plenty of discussion from the media and former NFL players. One of them, a former Jets QB, sees someone who has destroyed the locker room and is not healthy.

“It just fractures the whole locker room… this locker room is completely fractured,” Boomer Esiason said Tuesday on WFAN, per Audacy. “It makes me think I don’t know how the Jets could come back with him next year. Really not. I just don’t see it.

Rodgers has failed to establish a positive culture because the Jets lose too often; They are 3-8 years old. All of Rodgers’ “manipulation,” as Esiason called it, to get the Jets to bring in his guys (like receivers Davante Adams and Allan Lazard and former offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett), his conduct and comments about the team conspired to sink them further than expected.

Rodgers also looked like a 40-year-old a season removed from an Achilles tear; he totaled 2,442 yards with 17 touchdowns and seven interceptions. And Esiason believes Rodgers is not healthy right now.

“I’m telling you right now, he’s hurt. He is 100 percent injured. Esiason, who played for the Jets from 1993 to 1995, said on Wednesday’s show. “I mean it’s his left leg, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a hamstring.

“You can tell by the way everything happens on his back foot. It looks like he’s trying to protect his left leg. I’m sure we’ll hear about it eventually.

And Jets fans will hear a lot about how 2025 will mark the start of a new era of winning Jets football… all with a new coach, a new general manager and (probably) a new quarterback.
