The Great Eastern Women’s Run 2024 attracts a record 12,000 participants and raises $388,000 for charity

The Great Eastern Women’s Run 2024 marked its 18th edition with historic participation and record fundraising achievements. More than 12,000 women gathered at the Singapore Sports Hub early Sunday morning, under the theme “Reach for Great”.

This year’s event not only set a new attendance record, but also raised an impressive $388,000 to support two charities: Daughters of Tomorrow (DOT) and the Singapore Cancer Society (SCS).

The 2024 race saw record participation in family categories, including the 2km “Mummy + Me” and the 100m “Princess Dash”, which attracted more than 2,800 participants, primarily girls aged three to twelve years.

These categories are designed to inspire a love of fitness from a young age, bringing families together for a day of bonding and fun.

A celebration of family, fitness and community spirit

The “Mommy + Me” racing category, launched in 2017, has become extremely popular. This year’s edition was sold out as mothers and daughters donned special racing kits featuring the beloved Sanrio character, Cinnamon. These unique touches promote a lively and welcoming atmosphere that encourages fitness for all ages.

Great Eastern’s vision for GEWR has always focused on intergenerational connections through physical activity, and this year’s participation in the family categories highlights the event’s success in nurturing community connections.
