Waterford schools ask to leave LVC for Oakland Activities Association – The Oakland Press

Hello, old friends.

Waterford Kettering and Mott appear set to join the Oakland Activities Association, ending more than a decade and a half of combined competition elsewhere in the Kensington Lakes Activities Association and Lakes Valley Conference.

Rumors of the move had begun to circulate in recent weeks and the district’s application for OAA membership was confirmed Tuesday.

“We are grateful for the competition we have been privileged to experience as an LVC member district over the past eight years,” said Sarah Davis, director of communications and community relations for the Waterford School District. “Many factors drove our decision to apply for OAA membership, such as competitive alignment with similar districts, proximity to games, and academic and student leadership benefits. These opportunities will best serve the athletes, coaches and families of the Waterford School District now and in the future.
