What Donald Trump’s first day looks like, according to his media chief

Donald Trump’s “resounding” election victory gave him a clear mandate to deliver on his campaign promises from day one back in the White House, the president said. Republicanthe national press officer.

Karoline Leavitt said Fox News shortly after Trump was declared the winner of the 2024 election Kamala Harris that he will now be able to launch “mass expulsions” of illegal immigrants, expand oil drilling in the United States, negotiate a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine and impose sanctions on Iran to “end the chaos in the Middle East.

Polls had often suggested the race between Trump and Harris was neck and neck, with 538’s forecasting models and those of a veteran pollster. Nick Silver suggesting that the vice president was the marginal favorite. Instead, the Republican is on pace to win the popular vote and perhaps sweep the seven key battleground states.

Trump has previously stated that he would only act as a dictator if he returned to the White House in January 2025 on “day one,” in order to implement his campaign policies. “I want to close the border and I want to drill, drill, drill,” Trump told Fox News. Sean Hannity during a town hall in December 2023. The inauguration should take place on January 20, 2025.

News week contacted Trump and Harris’ campaign team for comment via email.

Speaking to Fox News, Leavitt said Trump’s clear victory means he can implement the campaign policies voters wanted when they supported him.

“The American people delivered a resounding victory for President Trump, and that gives him a mandate to govern during his campaign, to keep the promises he made,” Leavitt said.

“Drill, baby drill”

“That includes, on day one, launching the largest mass deportation of illegal immigrants that Kamala Harris has allowed into this country. It includes drills, baby drills, and fast-track clearances for nuclear power, for fossil fuels, for a primarily energy approach, this will lower the cost of living in this country.

“That means, from day one, bringing Ukraine and Russia to the negotiating table to end this war, and returning to very tough sanctions against the Iranian regime so that we can end the chaos in Middle East.”

Leavitt said the election results showed Americans “yearned” for Trump’s policies.

“They despise the Harris-(President Joe) Biden administration policies that have been implemented over the past four years, and the Harris-Biden administration will be considered the worst, weakest and most corrupt in the history of our country, and the Americans proved it last night.

Leavitt added that neither Harris nor Biden called Trump Wednesday morning to concede or congratulate him on his victory.

As of this writing, Trump has 277 Electoral College votes to Harris’s 224, according to the Associated Press, with the Republican leading in the three yet-to-be-called swing states of Arizona, Michigan and Nevada.

In his victory speech in FloridaTrump declared his second presidential victory and regaining control of the Republican Party Senate meant that the American people had given the Republican Party a “powerful and unprecedented mandate”.

“This is a movement like no one has ever seen before and, frankly, it was, I believe, the greatest political movement of all time,” Trump added.

“There’s never been anything like this in this country, maybe even, and now it’s going to reach a new level of importance because we’re going to help our country heal.”
