According to a resurfaced video, it appears that Trump is considering making reparations to the United States at the federal level – but that’s a far cry from what we consider reparations.

In a video released in July 2023 on his website, Trump detailed his plans for the impact on higher education. Part of the video has since resurfaced on X/Twitter.

“I will propose a measure to have them fined the entire amount of their endowment. A portion of the seized funds will then be used to compensate the victims of these illegal and unjust policies,” Trump said.

Black Twitter interpreted its promises as reparations for white people who have “suffered” from racial discrimination or from DEI teachings like critical race theory.

It plans to impose fines on institutions that raise awareness of “racial discrimination” and use these fines as compensation for those affected. But Trump’s idea of ​​racial discrimination is to ban critical race theory, outlined in the Project 2025 plan.

Black Americans have long waited for their turn to seek reparations related to slavery. Others believe reparations weren’t Trump’s intention at all.
