“After all, I sacrificed myself to remove this tyrant, Roman Reigns, from power, to tear him down; and now you want me to team up with you to help rebuild him?”

An appalled Seth Rollins had every right to be shocked that Sami Zayn asked him to team up with the OG Bloodline led by Reigns against Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa at Survivor Series: WarGames.

He had broken his body and sacrificed the World Heavyweight Championship to defeat The Tribal Chief at WrestleMania 40, so the idea of working with him to put him back in power as the undisputed head of the table has no merit. sense.

It would be equally absurd for The Visionary to go back on his word to Zayn and, later, Solo Sikoa, that he would never team with Reigns again.

Rollins turned down Sikoa’s offer to wrestle OTC, vowing to never team up with Reigns or rip him off. This moment should have ended any connection between Rollins and The Bloodline saga going into Survivor Series, but something about the way Sikoa and Co. operate and the fact that another showdown between Rollins and Bronson Reed is planned for the Next week’s main event suggests that might not be the case.

Sikoa was disrespected and Fatu immediately stepped forward, ready to rain down on Rollins by hitting him if necessary. Instead, it was held back, likely because there would be retaliation in a larger form, perhaps as early as next week’s main event.

If that happens, and it caused Rollins to put aside his issues with Reigns to join his team at Survivor Series on November 30, that would be a cop-out of major proportions.

Firstly, aside from putting guys on the map, there is no need to have five men on each team in WarGames. The story doesn’t demand it.

Reigns, The Usos and Zayn vs. Sikoa, Tonga, Loa and Fatu est THE renowned match. Adding to it only weakens it and makes it seem like the story had to fit the competition rather than the other way around.

Watering things down hasn’t been a signature of Triple H’s time as creative helm, so it would be surprising if he took that route now.

Second, it threatens Rollins’ credibility with fans.

Everything he told Zayn was correct.

He broke his body and lost his title to demolish Reigns. He dug up old wounds in the form of breaking up The Shield and used the mental advantage he held over The Tribal Chief to help him finish his run at the top of professional wrestling at WrestleMania 40.

Cody Rhodes called Rollins the “MVP” of the story-ending “Mania” main event over Andrew Schultz. Flagrant podcastbecause of what he meant to the story and how he put his health second to be a part of it.

Rollins knows Reigns better than anyone and has spent the last two years of his career trying to destroy the manipulative monster he created when he betrayed The Shield a decade ago.

All of this is diminished, if not outright ruined, if the Visionary backtracks on his passionate response to Zayn to associate with the babyfaces, even if there is a reason for him to do so.

Based on WWE’s booking history, let’s assume Sikoa responds to the disrespect by costing Rollins his match against Reed.

There is nothing heated or intense enough about either vendetta, whether with Sikoa or Reed, that would warrant Rollins putting aside years of frustration to suddenly agree with sharing the ring with Reigns in a tag team environment.

This would make The Visionary look like the ultimate hypocrite and undermine everything that was accomplished earlier in the year. Yes, there are reasons to trust the creative process based on everything we’ve gotten so far,

The fans believe in Rollins and trust him. He’s a guy whose passion has always shone through, no matter the story or situation. He’s earned their respect over the years, both as a villain and as a babyface, thanks to the conviction with which he speaks.

If you pair him with the OG Bloodline at Survivor Series, after everything he’s done and everything he’s said to Zayn, you risk damaging that connection for the sake of a unique match that does not need to occur in the format that was intended. teased.

Let it be a four-on-four showdown. Don’t bring the others in and risk detracting from one of WWE’s best story threads in Rollins’ clear effect on Reigns and all that may yet mean for future narratives.

Story is too valuable to waste on WarGames and then spend months trying to undo the damage done to the characters involved.

Keep Rollins out of the match and save his aura for a time when it will be more beneficial.
