Stephen Colbert predicts what will happen after Trump wins (VIDEO)

Stéphane Colbert featured well in Wednesday evening’s (November 6) edition of The late show as he addressed Donald Trumppresidential victory over the vice president Kamala Harris on Tuesday (November 5). And he also made his prediction for how he thinks the next four years will go.

The late-night host opened Wednesday’s show by offering comfort to his viewers who may be going through a difficult time in light of the election results.

“Hi. How are you? If you watch this show regularly, I guess you’re not doing very well,” he began. “Yeah, me neither. Today, some people told me said, “Sorry, you have to do a show tonight,” which is nice of them, but I don’t need to do a show I. get put on a show tonight.

After sharing his gratitude for The late show team, the live audience and viewers at home, Colbert said, “In times like this, what do we most want to be? Not alone. So, thank you for being here.

Colbert promised he would soon return to comedy and jokes, adding, “I’ll let you in on a little secret: No one gets into this business because everything in their life has gone well.” So we are built for tough roads.

Directly addressing the 2024 election result, the comedian said: “Well, damn… it happened. Again. After a bizarre and vicious campaign, fueled by the desperate need to stay out of jail, Donald Trump won the 2024 election.”

Looking for the “silver side,” Colbert said, “That way there will at least be a peaceful transfer of power.” Mike Pence, no beef!

He also addressed those who tell him he must secretly want Trump to win “because he gives you so much material to work with.” In response, Colbert said, “No. No, no one says to the guy cleaning the bathroom, “Wow, you must love it when someone has explosive diarrhea.” There is so much material to work with! »

Later in his monologue, Colbert considered what this Trump presidency could mean. “The first time Trump was elected, it started as a joke and ended as a tragedy,” he said. “This time it begins as a tragedy; who knows how it will end. A limerick? Once upon a time there was a man who was orange… damn it!

“Who knows what the next four years will look like? » Colbert continued. “What we do know is that we are going to be ruled by a monstrous child surrounded by cowards and crooks. It’s really hard to see the bright side here. For now, all I have is his inaugural speech. Because even though this will give his administration a bad start, at least we know the mic stand will have a happy ending.
