30 million early votes recorded before election day

More than 30 million early votes have been cast so far in the general election, according to the University of Florida Elections Laboratory.

Nearly 15 million of those ballots were cast in person, according to lab data.

Among those who voted by registration in some states, 40.8 percent, or nearly 6.7 million people, were Democrats, compared to 35.8 percent, or about 5.8 million, of Republicans, the data shows .

Female voters outperformed male voters by more than 10 percentage points, 54.2% to 43.9%, in Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Michigan, North Carolina and Virginia, according to laboratory data.

According to the data, the largest group of voters by age were voters over 65 years old. They made up 45.6 percent of early ballots cast in Colorado, Delaware, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Virginia. Voters aged 41 to 65 came in second, at 36.4 percent, according to the data.

Georgia and North Carolina have already seen record numbers of early votes, with Georgia’s secretary of state saying the first day’s vote totals were more than double the record and the North Carolina State Board of Elections announcing just a few days ago, he surpassed the one million vote mark.

North Carolina has already surpassed its 2020 record for the first day of early voting.
