Villa returned from a successful weekend in the WSL last time out, but their struggles continued after holding Tottenham scoreless in the opening hour.

A moment of pure magic broke the deadlock when midfielder Eveliina Summanen flashed her shot just beyond the center circle and saw her audacious shot head into the back of the net.

This victory allows Spurs to take a three-point lead in the standings.
