Pre-match

Syracuse looks to stay mathematically alive in the race to the ACC championship game and continue its march toward the AP Top 25 with a road win over Boston College on Saturday.

The Orange (6-2, 3-2 ACC) is coming off an emotional overtime win over Virginia Tech last week, while the Eagles had an extra week to prepare. Boston College (4-4, 1-3) got off to a good start this season under first-year coach Bill O’Brien, but has lost three straight games.

Boston College lacks playmakers beyond quarterback Thomas Castellanos, but has a reputation for strong offensive line play and has three of the 11 highest-rated offensive linemen in the ACC on PFF.

The Orange, who have struggled to contend this year, will need to master both Castellanos’ scrambling abilities and a rotation of three capable running backs.

This will be SU’s third outdoor game this year, following a win at North Carolina State and a loss at Pittsburgh.
