EMIRATES emerged as the best airline in the world among 90 global carriers in a recent comprehensive and methodological study carried out by Telegraph Travel.

Scores were calculated based on more than 30 criteria, including punctuality, baggage allowance, route network, quality of originating airport, age of fleet, value of rewards program and flavor of on-board meals, while the results were calculated by referencing data from more than 18 independent and international awards, reader surveys, rating websites and expert opinions.

Described as a “worthy winner”, the study announces that Emirates “ticks almost all the boxes, from baggage allowance to punctuality. It (also) offers (more) space and legroom in all cabins, including economy class.

The 90 airlines were selected for the number of annual passengers carried. Points were awarded based on each carrier’s performance on a range of criteria, including reliability, connectivity, baggage rules, flying experience, average age of fleet, quality of home airport, rewards program value, safety, legacy and lounge quality. plus numerous reader surveys and rankings, from Apex to Airline Ratings, from Skytrax to TrustPilot reviews.

So far in 2024, Emirates has received an additional 19 awards and recognitions from a wide range of sources around the world, including seven recognitions at the Skytrax World Airline Awards in June for Best Airline Inflight Entertainment in the world, best comfort amenities of a first class airline, best first class airline in the Middle East, best first class inflight catering in the Middle East, most family friendly airline in the Middle East , Best Premium Economy Airline in the Middle East and Best Inflight Premium Economy Catering in the Middle East.

At the World Travel Awards in May, Emirates won top honors for Best Middle East Airline 2024, Best Middle East First Class Airline 2024 and Best Middle East Airline Awards Program -Orient 2024.
