From Monday morning, 4.5 million of nearly 14 million registered voters in Florida, they had mailed in their ballots or voted early, according to the Florida Division of Elections. Tuesday, more than another half a million voted, and as of Wednesday morning, that figure stood at 5.7 million.

In the 2020 elections, nearly 80% of Floridians who voted did so before Election Day.

While more Democrats have responded to mail-in ballots than Republicans so far, more than 1.7 million Republicans voted early, according to the latest report, compared to more than 900,000 Democrats. However, nearly 640,000 voters with no party affiliation voted in advance, as well as more than 76,000 voters registered in the “other” category.

Polls opened for early voting in some counties on Monday, October 21. The state mandates early voting from October 25 to November 2. Local elections offices may extend these dates and early voting could begin as early as October 21 and continue. November 3.

  • Independent Party: 276,467
  • Libertarian Party: 35,964

According to the Florida Division of Elections, here is how absentee and early voting is taking place in Florida as of 8:12 a.m. on Wednesday, October 30:

When is the 2024 presidential election?

The general election will take place on Tuesday, November 5. Polling stations will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

To vote on Election Day, you must vote in your assigned precinct.

When is early voting in Florida?

The state requires early voting from Oct. 25 to Nov. 2, but each county’s supervisor of elections can choose to offer more days of early voting, starting up to five days earlier or lasting one day longer.

Many began early voting on Monday, October 21, and some will continue to vote early through November 3.

The final deadline for postal voting requests were Thursday, October 24 at 5 p.m.

When are early and absentee ballots counted in Florida?

Florida law allows ballots will be processed as soon as they are received and will be counted as soon as the county completes public testing of the automatic tabulation equipment. THE the results are kept secret and their early publication is a crime.

Will we know the results on election night in Florida?

Probably, and there will almost certainly be enough votes counted to project winners. When the polling stations close, the results already received will be displayed. More will be added as returns come in from across the state.

But no state can count every vote on election night, and results can change days, or even weeks, later. Votes that will be counted after Election Day include:

  • Ballots of military personnel and citizens absent abroadwho have up to 10 days to have their ballots delivered as long as they are postmarked by Election Day.
  • Provisional ballots cast at polling places by voters without proper identification or with minor errors who were later “cured” or verified as eligible. If additional information is needed, Florida voters have until 5 p.m. on the second day after the election to submit it.
  • Ballots that were challenged, then processed and counted.
