Man leaves stranded sister and new husband on honeymoon after they prank him

A man says he “ruined” his sister’s honeymoon by leaving her after she and her new husband played a series of pranks on him.

In an article on Redditthe unnamed 28-year-old claims his younger sister has “always been a prankster.”

“I generally accepted it, but during her marriage and now her honeymoon, it was really over the top,” he wrote.

After his sister’s wedding, he chose to treat her and her husband to a honeymoon trip – “to a beautiful mountain cabin a few hours away” – instead of a traditional gift.

But the road trip didn’t go as planned.

“From the moment I picked them up, they were in on a prank. They changed my GPS to another language, hid my phone when I wasn’t looking, and continued to play with the radio,” he wrote. “I laughed about it, but I was also a little annoyed because it was a long drive.”

When they arrived at the cabin, the couple convinced the man to stay for lunch, then hid his keys as another prank, he wrote. “I spent almost 45 minutes looking for them while they were laughing out loud.”

“When I finally found my keys, I told them I was done and ready to go home. My sister begged me to stay longer, but I was tired of the ‘pranks honeymoon’,” he wrote. “As I was leaving, they spread stupid string all over my car, which I had just cleaned before the trip.”

So he got in his car “and drove away,” realizing once halfway home that his new brother-in-law had left his phone in the backseat, next to his sister’s purse.

“They started blowing up my phone, begging me to come back, but I was exhausted and honestly didn’t feel like pulling another prank, so I said they could come pick up their stuff at their return,” he wrote. “They managed to find a friend to bring it to them the next day, but now they’re mad at me for ‘ruining the start of their honeymoon’.”

He continues: “My sister says I’m too sensitive and I don’t take jokes, but I think they went too far.”

Commenters mostly agreed with the poster, with one writing: “Someone else can go get them and you can stop being around them. They’re exhausting and completely rude.”

Another commenter said the man “should have never found the keys and just spent his entire honeymoon there.”

“Talk about such a stupid way for this couple to want to start their honeymoon (by holding someone else hostage). Aren’t you supposed to want to be alone?” they added.
