A 15-year-old British girl is fighting for her life after a paraglider crashed into her during a family holiday in Türkiye.

Lily Nichol, Durhamwas having lunch when the freak accident happened on the last day of his vacation.

Witnesses fear the teen was killed by the impact. An appeal for funds has been launched to support his family.

Mother Lyndsey Logan told The Sun she was on holiday with Lily and her eldest daughter Megan, 19, when the incident happened.

“We had to go home at 7.30pm, so today we went down for our last lunch together, enjoying some good English food,” Ms Logan told The Sun.

“I just remember Lily was eating, biting into a slice of pizza and this glider came out of nowhere and totally wiped her out on the table.

“She planted the table face down and we tried to get it up. Obviously she was unconscious and she had a stroke while she was on the ground. I thought she was dead.

“So I pulled her, we tried, everyone pulled her back to the side and her eye was all open.”

The family faces £7,000 in hospital costs, which could rise and rise.

THE GoFundMe campaign which began this week, hwhich has now raised over £6,000.

Ms Logan added: “The hospital told us she had a brain haemorrhage. She has a broken jaw, but she broke her jaw bone.

“She may have a broken back and broken ribs. They noticed that his tongue was also split in two. She is currently in intensive care.

She continued: “I thought she was dead, I thought she was dead, I was screaming, I was like where is the ambulance and I was like ‘Lily keep talking to us, keep talking to us’.”

A spokesperson for the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office said: “We are providing support to a young British girl and her family following an accident in Türkiye.”
