Liverpool plot sacrifice of 97-game star for Prem left-back to sidestep £40m deal

Liverpool are reportedly willing to offer Kostas Tsimikas to Fulham, so they don’t have to pay the full £40million the Cottagers want for Antonee Robinson.

On several occasions lately, the Reds have been linked to Robinson. The Fulham left-back has proven to be a very useful player over the course of a few Premier League seasons.

As a result, Liverpool and Manchester United are reportedly interested, and the Reds have a plan to land Robinson on the cheap.

According to TBRFootballLiverpool are big fans and could offer current left-back Tsimikas as a compensation weight, although the Greek international has played often of late.

Indeed, Robinson is reportedly valued by the Cottagers at £40 million, and the Reds are prepared to offer Tsimikas as compensation in the hope that the price will come down and a January deal can be agreed.

With the Liverpool left-back’s future up in the air, it seems wise for the club to offer him in the hope of securing an upgrade.

Tsimikas – who has shared left-back duties with Andy Robertson this season – is clearly not thought to be a huge asset to the Reds, while their scouts reckon Robinson is elite.

Fulham, seventh in the Premier League, is not that, and never has been, while Liverpool are top of both the top flight and the Champions League, so Robinson moving there would fit the way from which they see it.

In any case, he is not the only left-back wanted by Liverpool. Milos Kerkez and Rayan Ait-Nouri – both also currently playing in the Premier League – are also on their radar.

However, they are moving to land Robinson, and if things go well the American could be a Liverpool player come January.
